There’s solace in living through a mirror The view from the window is so ugly Looking forwards I’m blinded by fear And behind me is everything that should be Tripped and fell, I missed the ground Reality is so much less forgiving A gift taken for granted, then thrown around I shouldn’t have been so thoughtful Sorry An empty embrace And a sieve full of promises that life made me Well it seems that this chase Has been on a treadmill in its entirety Tripped and fell, I missed the ground Reality is so much less forgiving A gift taken for granted, then thrown around I shouldn’t have been so thoughtful Sorry An empty embrace And a sieve full of promises that life made me And here I am again Pretending to be free, defying memory

Wherever you go There's always one thing you should know Please stay away It seems you can't control your affections coming my way If these things you do I will always respect and be thoughtful towards you For you it's a joke to be But for me, it's an upcoming travesty I'd like for things to come to fruition But by the look of things, you'll be my mortician Through it all, I've always been there (x 3) Oooohhh...

Robbed Blind 03:03
All the time I wait for something to be mine And all the day I wait for something to come my way But it's taken from me When I cannot see Would you take Away from me now? (x 3) It'll take awhile 'Til I can find my smile The thing I hate Is simply greed, your worst trait Please don't take it from me 'Cause I cannot see Please don't take away from me now Why'd you take away from me now

I know you We were a duo, I called you blue Do you know me? After the countless hours on TV But no it's done I know you're the fortunate one And you know that I Don't care less and that's no crime How can you say, the city is the best? When there's no apple orchard To take my rest Sleepy eyes Come and see your surprise It is dark There's not much flint to light a spark How can you say, the city is the best? When there's no apple orchard To take my rest

High and Dry 05:01
Two jumps in a week I bet you think that's pretty clever don't you boy? Flying on your motorcycle, Watching all the ground beneath you drop You'd kill yourself for recognition, Kill yourself to never ever stop You broke another mirror, You're turning into something you are not Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Drying up in conversation, You will be the one who cannot talk All your insides fall to pieces, You just sit there wishing you could still make love They're the ones who'll hate you When you think you've got the world all sussed out They're the ones who'll spit at you, You will be the one screaming out Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry It's the best thing that you ever had, The best thing that you ever, ever had It's the best thing that you ever had, The best thing you ever had has gone away Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry Don't leave me high, don't leave me dry

about

After playing together for two months, multi-instrumentalists Jacob Hood and Ryan Fernandes decided that it was time to release an album. Recorded in Ryan's modest garage in around 10 hours, this is Coffee & Cream's debut album Checking the Skyline. It features two acoustic guitars and voice. This is a stripped-down version of a soon-to-come full-fleshed rock album.
